A 57-year-old has died after hiking on Boulder's Mesa Trail.

The Boulder County Communications Center got a report after 1 p.m. Saturday that the man was overdue from hiking, according to a press release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office. The family member was unable to reach him by phone.

After searching the area where the man was last seen, search and rescue teams found him deceased at the bottom of "The Slab" rock formation, which is near the intersection of the Shanahan and Mesa Trail. The Boulder County Coroner's Office and detectives from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation. The coroner's office will determine the identification and cause and manned of death.

Well Peter. Sometimes folks do get what they want. I myself am on the cusp of Geezerdom. I'm not wishing for anything soon. As Mr Spock said Live Long and Prosper

It has long been my ambition to die while hiking near Boulder.
