Dogs rescued from aurora fire

Aurora firefighters rescued two dogs from a burning multi-family residence Thursday morning.

Aurora firefighters rescued two dogs from a burning home Thursday morning.

The fire broke out at 6:45 a.m. in a multifamily residence at Oakland Street and First Avenue, Aurora fire Lt. Ben Pfeiffer said.

Crews found two dogs inside the unit and carried them to safety. Pfeiffer said the animals were expected to be fine. 

Firefighters contained the blaze around 7:30 a.m., and the flames did not spread to neighboring units. 

Pfeiffer said the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
