Where good news shines
The Gold Crown Foundation again is doing what it does as well as anyone — helping kids.
Gold Crown will host its third Healthy Kids Expo from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24.
The event, which is free, will take place at the Gold Crown Field House at 160 S. Harlan Street in Lakewood. Gold Crown founder Bill Hanzlik said roughly 800 kids have registered for the Healthy Kids Expo. They're shooting for 1,400.
"It's going to be a blast," Hanzlik said.
The event is billed as "the ultimate family-fun day" and features interactive stations, mini camps, meet and greets and giveaways.
The Avalanche, Broncos, Nuggets and Rockies will be represented, along with kid-friendly health and wellness activities through the three pillars of Gold Crown's Health Huddle: sports performance, healthy habits and mental health.
The event is presented by Alpine Bank. Participants can register at goldcrownfoundation.com.
